iOS 6

iOS 6 is ready for download. Here's everything you need to know, from how to update your device(s) to getting started with Apple's latest OS upgrade.

Make Sure Your iDevice Is Compatible

In order to run iOS 6, you'll need one of the following devices:
iPhone 3GS (limited functionality)
iPhone 4 (limited functionality)
iPhone 4S
The new iPad
iPad 2 (limited functionality)
iPod touch 4th generation (limited functionality)

Upgrade Over the Air or via iTunes

There are two ways to update to iOS 6: using your iDevice or you computer. We'll go over both.

To update your iDevice over the air, follow these steps:

Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to power. You don't want the update to stop part-way through because you ran out of battery.
Backup your device!
Open the Settings app.
Tap the General tab.
Tap the Software Update tab.
Wait for your device to check for updates. When it finds an available update, install it.
Wait for the update to download and install. Don't do anything with your phone while it does.

To update your iDevice with iTunes on your computer, follow these steps:

Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to your Mac or Windows PC and open iTunes (if it doesn't open automatically).
Backup your device!
iTunes may tell you that an update (iOS 6) is available for your device. If it does, confirm that you want to install it. If not, click on your device in the iTunes sidebar and tap the Check for Updates button. When an update is found, confirm that you want to install it.
Wait for the update to download and, when finished, confirm you want to install it. Wait for the update to install.

Note: If your device is jailbroken you will need to jailbreak your device again!

How Can I Install Windows Without the Disk

You can legally download Windows 7 and make your own install disc. Most of computers ship without Windows 7 installation discs. They come with recovery discs and partitions that claim to restore your PC to its factory  state.

You'll learn how to make your own Windows  installation disc or USB flash drive. You can use the valid product key you already have to perform a fresh installation. The following method is effective and legal, and doesn’t require a lot of technical expertise.

First you have to save your files and drivers to external media before you start. Reinstalling Windows wipes out all personal data and causes a loss of functionality in devices for which Windows lacks an adequate built-in driver.

Reinstalling Windows 7, Step by Step

1. Find your Windows 7 product key: Typically this 25-character alphanumeric string is printed on a sticker affixed to your PC or on documentation included with your PC. Alternatively, you can use a key finder program such as Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder to pull your product key from the Registry. You need your product key to reinstall Windows. Magical Jelly Bean Keyfinder helps you round up your serial numbers.

2. Download the ISO file for the version of Windows  you own

Home Premium SP1 (English, 64-bit)
Professional SP1 (English, 64-bit)
Ultimate SP1 (English, 64-bit)
Home Premium SP1 (English, 32-bit)
Professional SP1 (English, 32-bit)
Ultimate SP1 (English, 32-bit)

The above links point to Digital River, a licensed distributor of Microsoft software. These downloads are each over 3GB, and your product key will work only with your edition of Windows, so make sure to select the right one.

3. Download the Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool. This utility lets you copy your Windows 7 ISO file to a DVD or USB flash drive. Whether you choose DVD or USB makes no difference; just confirm that your PC can boot to the media type you select.

4. Boot your computer using the Windows 7 DVD or USB flash drive. Follow the prompts to prepare the destination hard drive and install Windows.

iPhone 5 is Here

The iPhone 5 is expected to be unveiled next week. Rumors claim Apple has completely redesigned its iconic headphones for the first time since 2006. Vietnamese blog site Tinhte.vn posted a video of what it claims are newly-designed headphones for the next iPhone, which is expected to launch on September 12.

If confirmed, it is the first major redesign of the distinctive white headphones since the iPhone launched, other than the addition of an in-line microphone and remote control in 2008.

Wolphram Alpha

Want to know how many photos, links and updates you posted? Wolfram's got all that. What time of day you post the most? Wolfram will tell you. Just type “Facebook Report” and follow instructions. After connecting it to your Facebook and granting it a rather large number of permissions, Wolfram Alpha will break down everything about your Facebook activity into 60 different sections of charts, graphs, and other analyses

Wolfram Alpha its not like any search engine, it’s a computational search engine. You can ask “how much iron in 1 cup fresh orange juice?”
